State of the Indian Migrants (SIM)
is an annual publication of Arunodhaya
Migrant Initiatives (AMI),. It is
a collection of happenings to migrant
workers and domestic workers in the
host countries, particularly in the
Gulf and in the South-East Asian countries.

It is a book in Tamil on ‘Trafficking
in Migration and HIV/AIDS’.
The booklet was published with a goal
of enlarging the trafficking definition
to include those who are forced to
work and forced to leave to perform
3D job conditions (dirty, dangerous
and difficult)

This is a book in Tamil which highlights
the Role of the Women Self-Help groups
in preventing trafficking in migration
and forced labour. Good practices
in preventing the trafficking are
highlighted. This was born out of
our pilot programme with UNDP under
TAHA (Trafficking and HIV/AIDS)

Pre-Departure Manual in Tamil. This
is given at the time of conducting
the structured Pre-departure programme
in the field office. This book contains
the laws in India which governs Migration
and it gives the migrant worker the
do’s and don’s about migration
to Gulf, Singapore and Malaysia.

In order to bridge the gap between
the migrant workers and recognized
agents, the Arunodhaya Migrant Initiatives
decided to provide correct information
on the list of recognised agents and
the list of black listed employers
in the destination countries. This
is a small step to make the labour-migration
SAFE for thousands and thousands of
men and women who are forced to leave
the country not by their choice but
by chance.
